Hi, these in the picture are me, Sonia, Stafania, Zack and a new friend known in Turkey. We are in Istanbul at the end of a fantastic week. =)
“No Human Should Be Without Rights “, this the name of the project promoted by the ERASMUS + program that took place Istanbul, Turkey from 22.04-29.04.2017.
Project was a partnership building activity in youth field. Six countries: Italy, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Poland, Latvia, Turkey and so many young people.
Among these a group of 4 young people from 4 corners of Italy: north, south, center and islands! I Angela and with me Zack, Sonia, Stefania. For us it was a busy but fun week!
Through various activities we learned he value of Human Rights. The term “human rights” is referred to the basic rights and freedom that all people have. All people can make use of these rights regardless of their race, nationality, ethnical origin, religion, language or gender.
Every day we had so many activities like work in small groups, ice breakers, team building, creative workshops, debates , visiting etc. they learned the value of Human Rights.
We also participated in a public transport project in the city of Istanbul.
These are our considerations:
As partecipants delegates coming from 6 countries, we discussed about the situation of public Istanbul metropolitan system and we compared with the currently Italian system.
Cleanness at the station
Compared to the Italian metropolitan system of Rome we found the general system very efficient. About general cleanliness we found the Istanbul station very tidy and lively:
• There wasn’t written on the wall
• Bright public spaces
• No rubbish on the floor
• No smell
In Rome is different because the infrastructures are old, dirty and disorganized.
Istanbul card
We haven’t found any information points that could explain us how to buy it or how the Istanbul card works. However you can choose several languages for buy a journey ticket from electronic machine also Italian language
Check police security
We were surprised about the metal detectors at the entrances of the stop stations. In Italy we don’t use the metal detector ps but in each station we have public armed forces and private security inside the train and along the platform.
Thank you for showing us the metropolitan Istanbul system and having the opportunity to live here for a week. We hope to hear from you good news.
Kind regards
